To My Protestant Brethren

Musing # 1- This t-shirt design reads: Catholic and Christian since 33 AD, how can that be?
Is the Catholic Church really the church established by Jesus Christ when He said in Mt 16:18, “So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven…”?
Let’s see. The name Peter, in Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke) is the word for rock. Then, Jesus speaking to Peter says, and I paraphrase, You are Rock and upon this Rock I will build my Church.
When was Jesus planning on establishing His Church? Right at that moment, after His death at Pentecost, or 1500 years later with the Protestant Reformation? Hmm?
In Acts 2, on the day of Pentecost, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter (the first Pope) had quite a first sermon and one heck of an altar call (3000 souls were added to the church that day).
We cannot do an altar call here but we can do a Blogger Call. Two thousand years of Church history and the fullness of the Christian Faith is waiting for you to explore.
That t-shirt design is correct. Take courage, my friend.
